A Bridge Too Far... Well, At Least the Airport

Well, as pilots put it themselves in Dispatch, « you pay nothing, you get nothing »: the flight operated by Eirjet on behalf of Ryanair probably decided Derry airport was too far away for its liking and preferred to land on a military base in Ballykelly, in front of bemused soldiers.

“The Eirjet pilot was cleared by air traffic control in City of Derry for a visual approach and mistook the nearby Ballykelly for City of Derry.”
